ADHC Talks (Live Online): The Future of DH in Higher Education Online
During this ADHC Talk, Sara and Jeri will talk about the future of DH: What technologies will have big impact? What infrastructure will be necessary to support sustained DH scholarship? How do we train future DH scholars?
Jeri E. Wieringa is Assistant Professor in Religious Studies and a digital historian by training. She is the incoming assistant director of the Center for Digital Humanities at Princeton, a DH research center within the Princeton University Libraries. Her work focuses on the intersection of critical data studies, religious history, gender, and technology. She has published in Debates in the Digital Humanities (forthcoming), the DeGruyter Introduction to Digital Humanities in Religion series, and is working on a digital monograph on technology in the early development of Seventh-day Adventism in the United States.

Session Organizer
Sara Whitver is Digital Humanities Librarian at The University of Alabama Libraries. Sara's doctoral research examines the concept of worldbuilding on social media platforms. Sara's scholarship is grounded in qualitative and mixed methods studies focused on teaching practices, transfer learning, accessible pedagogy, and worldbuilding.
As the leader of the Alabama Digital Humanities Center, Sara is focused on reducing barriers for participation in digital humanities research by providing skills support and mentoring focused on open access software. Sara is currently working on research that explores the preservation and documentation practices of DH practitioners who work with emerging technologies such as VR and 3D modeling.
