ADHC Lunch & Learn: Introduction to Voyant In-Person

Our Brown Bag Lunch & Learns are a series of hands-on workshops that introduce popular platforms for Digital Humanities projects. Come join us in the Digital Humanities Center, Gorgas 1015, to learn about these tools that you can incorporrate into your research!

 

 

Join us for our final Lunch & Learn workshop featuring the web-based data visualization tool, Voyant. During this session, we will learn some basics about data visualization and access build datasets for use in Voyant using information available through the University Libraries and on the Internet. This workshop is suitable for beginners who have no experience building digital projects. Please bring your own device.

Sara Whitver

Sara Whitver is Digital Humanities Librarian at The University of Alabama Libraries. Sara's doctoral research examines the concept of worldbuilding on social media platforms. Sara's scholarship is grounded in qualitative and mixed methods studies focused on teaching practices, transfer learning, accessible pedagogy, and worldbuilding. 

As the leader of the Alabama Digital Humanities Center, Sara is focused on reducing barriers for participation in digital humanities research by providing skills support and mentoring focused on open access software. Sara is currently working on research that explores the preservation and documentation practices of DH practitioners who work with emerging technologies such as VR and 3D modeling.
