R Basics - Variables & Syntax In-Person
Class level: Beginner - no prior experience needed!
It is recommended to bring your own laptop so we can help you set up your own workspace - but there are computers in the classrooom as well.
This workshop covers:

- Making Variables (and what variables are)
- Data Values & Types
- Mathmatical & Boolean Operators
- Basic Functions
- Getting Help
About your instructor: Brittany Waltemate is the Research Data and Geographic Information Librarian in addition to being the liaison to the Geography and Geology Departments. Prior to UA she achieved her BS in Geography from Penn State and her MSIS from UTK. She's been using R for the last 8 years to perform statistics, analyze spatial information, and automate data management and cleaning.
