RDS Workshop: Using Python in Business Research, Lance Simpson, Mark Siciliano In-Person

Attendees will learn how to:     

  • Work with Python in Google Colaboratory 
  • Load data into Colaboratory notebooks, import Python libraries, and save/share/format notebooks
  • Use built-in Python functions
  • Use the Pandas data analysis library to load tabular data into DataFrames. 
  • Plot variables and tabular data with Matplotlib 

Setup Instructions:

To actively participate in the Python workshops, users will need a Google Account (this can be your culverhouse.ua.edu account) to access the online Google Colaboratory service.

Mark Siciliano is a Business Reference Librairian with Bruno Business Library. He is the library liaison for the Culverhouse School of Accountancy and the Departments of Management and Information Systems, Statistics, and Management Science. You can reach him at msicilia@bruno.cba.ua.edu.
